Animated Doodle 13 - Run

Wow, its been almost a month since I've posted anything - but no worries, now that my wacom tablet is fixed, it is my goal to post something - anything - once a week.

Here's a run cycle. I did this as a part of the Limbic system piece.

Animated Doodle 12 - Water Test

Here's something you may or may not find interesting. I was experimenting with creating animated water using only a flat color and Photoshop filters.

Animated Doodle 11 - Limbic

An unfinished straight-ahead piece on the limbic system. Its not likely to be finished anytime soon either, since I managed to break my wacom tablet in a freak accident.

Animated Doodle 8 - Does Compute

Hey all,
Still trying to keep these Semi-Daily.

This is my first attempt with my new Wacom Tablet!
He's something of a rainy-day doodle - as it is a rainy day.
I'm coming to a point where I want these doodles to have more actual animation in them. 12 principles and all - so hopefully you can look forward to that coming up. Maybe some simple exercises and motions.

Animated Doodle 7 - Tabby

Here's how that cat short is fleshing out:

(sorry its taking me so long to post these things.
I have to transfer stuff between computers, and I'm a lazy lazy person)

Animated Doodle 6 - Fancy Sand

Fancy Sand

This was an attempt at creating a sand animation effect in Photoshop and After Effects.
The frames were painted in black and white with a warm photo filter.
The imagery is somewhat random. Its a piece about to mental disease.

Animated Doodle4 - Abstraction

I think alot about the brain and the nature of our perception. So today I wanted to start an a pure abstract from the beginning and see where it took me. The result is almost an iconic representation of the word "abstract." What does that say about painting as a language?

Animated Doodle3 - CatWalk

This is a slightly jerky cat walk. This gif moves a little faster than it should.
Also, it looks better coming forward in space than it does walking in one place.
I've fleshed this doodle out into a short, which I will post hopefully later today.

This almost has a pastel animation look. I'm going to experiment more with trying to create that and other natural effects in Photoshop. Nothing beats the real deal, but its nice to do something that is close.

Animated Doodle2 - Bed Time

Here is the second of my daily animated doodle series. I think he's cute but so far have heard "dark" and "disturbing" used to describe the little guy. Se la vi.

Animated Doodle1 - Sinus Pressure

This will be a series of animated doodles created in photoshop and posted as gifs here.

Someday I might actually flesh one of these brain childs out into something longer - but for now they're just moving doodles. Since they are straight ahead animations, I like to think that they say something about the state of my subconscious. That being said, the first couple came out a little dark. Perhaps they spring from the limbo that is post graduation.
Here's the first:
